Wow a blog.. I cant believe it I started this over 4 months ago and now I have finally picked it up again. So just read through where I was at then...
One week to go!
One week to go!
This is a real first for me, so hang in there I am really doing this for my kids and friends, as a sort of open email to everyone who is interested in what we are up to.
Dads roses
We haven't even left for Bali yet, so I'm just trying out this blog thingy. Mum and Dad are in the UK, I have been over and pinched all of his roses. What do you think?
I'm nearly excited but have a Ancient History exam to get through tomorrow....then I will be really EXCITED.
Just take a look at this place, it's been like this for weeks, a younger me would have
been pulling her hair out!
been pulling her hair out!
Today was Ken sister Ali's birthday, we took Dorothy and Olive for a walk down the beach,
and had breaky at the Blue Duck.

Magnificent the sun was shining but the sand was F...... Freezing and my feet were numb,
but who cares we had such a great time.

I wish I had a photo of the birthday girl,
but I have never been big on taking photos much to the annoyance of my daughter Sib.

But that will all change now that I'm doing this blog, I will fill the space with lovely shots, and my ramblings wont be so long.
.....yeah right not so long...haha.
FLASH FORWARD 4 MONTHS...
Well here we are, living the dream!
We thought that we would come for 6 months rent a villa and see how we feel, 3 weeks later we bought a new home in the middle of a rice padi on the edge of a river,
and we now belong to the local village community of Pejeng.
and we now belong to the local village community of Pejeng.
Pejeng is about 7-10 mins out of Ubud heading towards Mount Agung (Kintamani).
Pejeng is one of the last truly traditional villages, which we are so grateful for, even though we awake every morning around 5.30-6 to either roosters crowing, prayer callings, squealing pigs, barking dogs or the ducks quacking in the padi fields!!!
I can't believe it, but I love it...yes all of it, but I have to confess
I do wear ear plugs to bed to tone it all down a little.

I have so much to tell you guys, but are on a time limit as it's Sibs last night here.
So I will just share one of the most special things in our village.
So I will just share one of the most special things in our village.
The children.
We love them, all thirteen of them, they come for a swim and a nail polish on the weekends. Ken and I have a ball here they are in the early days, no bathers and not a care in the world.
Sibaunne comes and wolah...
Sibaunne comes and wolah...
everyone has bathers!
They love their bathers and hugged them to their chest as they left, today they rocked up again with their bathers calling Jeklyn, Jeklyn but Ken had to send them away as I was out with Sibby. They will be back again on Sabtu (Saturday), laughing and talking to us as if we speak Indonesian.
Somehow we manage to communicate especially when it comes the time for ice creams.

Ok I really do have to go now, will get back to you soon, love to you all

ReplyDeleteNow you're making me homesick for Jecklyn, Ken and Pejeng. I think of you guys every day and constantly scan the cheap flights and plot my next visit. I really want to check up on the chicks (who are probably close to laying now). Keep up the blog J, although it makes me fees guilty for not writing anything myself. Then again, you have always been good at giving me a gentle (sometimes not so gentle) nudge!!xx Love you heaps and looking forward to seeing you in December.xx
